This past month, in partnership with MIDA RPM and Ontario
Electronic Stewardship (OES), the Mohawk College Sustainability Office
successfully hosted an Electronic Waste Recycling Drive. Unwanted devices — printers,
monitors, MacBooks, televisions, cellphones and used batteries — were collected,
and will be properly disposed of in a way that is safe for the environment.
Generally speaking, e-waste consists of more than 92% recoverable and reusable commodities, so it is important to keep old electronics out of landfills and in recycling plants. Thanks to all those who participated! All of your old electronics are being sent out for the recycling process this week.
